MAMA TOLD ME NOT TO COME EXIT 9 MIX(MASTER)-DJ SOULFLOWER LIVE WRSUSeptember 06, 2009 11:31 AM PDT
a MIX FOR ALL MY EXIT 9, MELODY BAR, RUTGERS HEADS (AND EVERYONE ELSE TOO) LIVE FROM FUTURDOMEJune 14, 2009 11:29 AM PDT
I like to just call this mix "Future" because that was the idea behind it. Adding a different flare to it. Pushing the feeling on. So, here I present this hybrid. My contribution. Enjoy. TURNOVER MIXJune 09, 2009 08:13 PM PDT
So, this mix goes a little while back, but still exercises the demons (sameer). I was getting a lot of records from the west (SF)and playing a lot of after hours and champagne bars in NY. The end result is a nice cross section of West Coast Funk, Pop Bottle NY shit, mash ups, and innate Soul(flower). It definately goes down better than this description. Enjoy!! UNSTOPPABLEJune 04, 2009 07:37 PM PDT

Almost two hours in the life with DJ Soulflower on the mix. The very beginning of what would ultimately be a 6 hour set. In his always ecelectic stylie, this segment represents the shape of things to come. Live from Les Enfants Terribles (NYC) on a Saturday Night. This version was mastered and edited by Guido Osorio ( Razor n' Guido). I would like to thank him for the flavor. The vibes are vast on this one, so, check it out thoroughly and enjoy!!!! |
About Lemar SoulflowerBackground: My involvement in the “NY Music Scene” dates back over a decade. Being a drummer since the age of 7, interest in all styles of music was not only natural, but a prerequisite. I started DJ’ing in high school. Playing hip-hop, reggae and freestyle for friends and various functions seemed to logically segue into exploration of New York City’s club and early rave scene. Working as a promoter for the now infamous Limelight and rave clubs like NASA and Caffeine, I was introduced to and became enamored with a new take on DJ’ing and adjusted my goals accordingly. My first higher profile gigs occurred in 1993, and led to me being an in demand house and rave DJ till the present. Working with various agents and promoters allowed me to travel the country while pursuing my passion. Present: I evolve. Incorporating all styles of music into my repertoire I now play large clubs as well as lounge environments with ease. Was one of the first generation of DJ’s at APT (http://www.aptwebsite.com) where I still spin regularly. Currently I have a long standing residency @Thom’s Bar(60 Thompson, Manh.) on Fridays and @13 Little Devils(Orchard and Delancy) on Thursdays. All the while working on my own music productions.
